Selling AS IS in fair condition. Green covers have quite a bit of handling showing. There is an illustrated circle showing leaves and flowers on front cover. The 3 1/2 in circle is outlined in gold with the title In black on a gold banner which is part of this circle. The author's name is also in gold near bottom of front cover. Also front cover has stippling as part of the artwork. Spine has what looks like some water staining. Title in gold banner and what looks like the publisher's logo in gold near bottom. Spine color has darkened to a brown. There is also some stippling on spine. Back cover also has some pale water stains. Spine shows open wear along top and bottom. Outside cover corners have some open wear. Top outside edges of text is light brown. Could be either dust collected through the ages or made that way as many books were to keep the page edges looking nice. Spine is weak and shaky but nothing is falling apart. Two faded penciled numbers at top right outside corner of free front endpaper. Book is very heavy due to the heavyweight paper used. B/w illustration of Cicely opposite title page. There are also some very pale water stains about an inch or so wide from top to bottom along vertical outside edges on some pages.
